Let Go – Let Beauty Emerge

One of my earliest memories of beauty is the Cherry Blossom tree that was in the front yard of the home that I grew up in with my family in Rhode Island. It grew wildly and was so eye catching that the memory lives in my mind’s eye all these years later. No one tried to trim it back, make it picture perfect…we just let it be.

As someone who likes to try and control things, I can see the beauty in this wild image…and, hopefully, find the lesson as well. When we let go of our tight grip on things, things of beauty can emerge.

Through the use of Expressive Arts – dialogue, journaling and visual arts – I have loosened my grip on what emerges. It has been a freeing experience and has allowed me to create with possibility vs limitation.

Where might you loosen your grip? Where might beauty emerge from you?
